Round Rock Fire responds to commercial building fire

One person was treated on scene for injuries following a commercial building fire in Round Rock over the weekend.

Round Rock Fire Department responded to the blaze at approximately 11:33 a.m. Sunday afternoon at the GP1 Collision Center located at 2800 Chisholm Trail Road.  Eight units arrived to find smoke pouring out of a large overhead door leading to the shop area. Fire crews extinguished a van on fire in the shop and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the inside of the building.

The fire was declared under control at 11:44 a.m. Williamson County EMS treated one person on scene for smoke inhalation; no one was transported to the hospital for injuries. The fire appears to have originated from welding blankets near the van, which caught fire during welding work and spread to the vehicle.
