City of Round Rock publishes annual financial reports

The City of Round Rock’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) are now available online.

The CAFR provides an overview and analysis of the City’s revenues and expenditures for the previous fiscal year and demonstrates the City’s commitment to stewardship and accountability with public funds. State law and city charter require audited financial statements each year, and the City’s 190-page CAFR meets recommended higher standards of the Government Finance Officers Association to provide a more comprehensive look at Round Rock’s financial condition, funds, compliance and statistical information.  The report was presented to City Council for acceptance at its Feb. 22 regular meeting. Whitley Penn LLP, an independent audit firm that reports directly to the City Council, gave the City’s financial statements and internal controls a “clean” opinion, meaning no modifications were required after more than 760 hours of review.

In conjunction with the publication of the CAFR, the City of Round Rock also has a copy of its easy-to-read PAFR available online at roundrocktexas.gov. The report takes much of the information presented in the CAFR and condenses it into a simplified and visually-appealing format for the general public. Both documents have received recognition from the Government Finance Association for meeting its high standards of public financial reporting in previous years.

These documents exhibit the City’s ongoing strong financial position and compliance with municipal, state and national standards.
