Use less water in the winter to save on future bills

Using less water this winter may help you save on future bills! 

Wastewater averaging is how the City determines how much you will be charged for wastewater, or sewer, for the next year. Since there are no meters on the wastewater lines leaving your property, the City averages your water use from November through February to determine what your home or business will be billed. These are the months that usually have the lowest water use due to less outdoor watering.  

To ensure you receive the lowest sewer average possible, please take the time to check any water consumption devices that may affect your wastewater average for 2023, such as irrigation and pool settings.

You can also prepare your home with the City of Round Rock’s Better Bathroom Rebate for the purchase and installation of new WaterSense-labeled toilets, showerheads and faucets to bathrooms in single-family homes and duplexes built before 2006. The rebate is for up to 50 percent of the cost of the fixture, up to $500 per residential account. Rebates are first-come, first-serve, so be sure to use them while they’re available!
