The City of Round Rock received four awards for its communications and marketing efforts from the Texas Association of Information Officers (TAMIO).

The City won two first place TAMI Awards, one second and one third at the TAMIO conference June 7 in Georgetown.

First-place awards were earned in the categories of Best Photography, for Round Rock’s “Sense of Place” strategy, and in Best Media Relations, which highlighted Round Rock Police’s communications efforts to bring two kidnapped girls back home in January.

Second place honors were awarded for Round Rock’s animated Shop the Rock video, and the Communications and Marketing Department’s Digital Communications Plan won third place in Communications Planning.

TAMIO is a network of communications professionals dedicated to informing Texas citizens of important issues in municipal government. Round Rock Communications and Marketing Director Will Hampton serves as Past President on the TAMIO Board, and Communications and Marketing Manager Sara Bustilloz serves as the group’s Region 5 representative.
