Round Rock assessing damage following severe weather

The City of Round Rock is currently assessing damage and assisting affected residents following severe weather early Monday evening.

Debris in roadways and structural damage to multiple homes and businesses has been sighted along the path of tornados. Crews are concentrated in areas along Highway 79, Gattis School Road and Greenlawn Boulevard.

The City advises residents to stay off the roads as public safety and transportation crews continue to assess damage. Residents should continue to follow local news for the latest weather updates.

Multiple power outages have been reported throughout the City. Outages can be reported to Oncor by calling 888-313-4747, texting OUT to 66267 or via stormcenter.oncor.com. Do not approach downed power lines. If you encounter an intersection without power, treat it as a four-way stop.

Two temporary shelter locations have been set up at Dell Diamond Heritage Center (3400 E Palm Valley Blvd) and Redbud Elementary School (1500 Ty Cobb Pl).

Agencies responding to the damage include Round Rock Police Department, Round Rock Fire Department, Williamson County EMS, Round Rock ISD Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety and Austin Police Department.

No fatalities or major injuries have been reported at this time.
