Round Rock approves playground replacements

Round Rock City Council unanimously approved plans on Thursday, July 27, to replace playgrounds at High Country Park and Freeman Park.

The new playground equipment at High Country Park, located at 2910 Flower Hill Drive, will be purchased from PlayWell Group, Inc. for $105,502.65 and include built-in shade structures.

The playground replacement for Freeman Park, located on the eastern edge of Brushy Creek Trail near Forest Ridge Boulevard and Forest Bluff Trail, will be purchased from Whirlix Design, Inc. for $162,627. The previous playground was damaged as a result of the March 2022 tornado.

The upgrades will be paid for through the City’s Round Rock’s Playground Replacement Program, which uses funding from the General Self-Finance Construction Fund to enhance and expand local parks throughout the community.
