Police Department promotes five Officers

The Round Rock Police Department announces the promotion of five sworn staff members. These Officers were recognized at a promotional ceremony on Friday, Jan. 10 at the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center.

Commander Jim Stuart is being promoted to Assistant Chief. Cmd. Stuart has been with the Round Rock Police Department since 1988, most recently serving as supervisor over the Criminal Investigations Division. Cmd. Stuart replaces Assistant Chief Alain Babin, who retired in November after 25 years of service.

Lieutenants Melissa Grubbs and Ben Hall are both being promoted to Commander. Lt. Hall will replace Cmd. Stuart as Criminal Investigations Division supervisor, while Lt. Grubbs will oversee the newly created Special Operations Division.

Sergeant Daniel Sitz is being promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Patrol. Detective Jason Watson is being promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Patrol.

“It is our honor to celebrate these individuals for their contributions to our Department and for achieving their personal goals of advancement,” said Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks. “I’m excited to work with them for many more years as they continue to provide great leadership for the Round Rock Police Department and the City of Round Rock.”
