Pflugerville library to get makerspace
Handcrafters, knitters and techies will soon have a dedicated Makerspace, known as the Pfab Lab, at the Pflugerville Public Library. A Makerspace is an area where people come together to work on projects using tools high-end tools such as a 3-D printer and receive hands-on learning. “For the past few years, we’ve been incorporating maker-type programs—everything from arts and crafts to more technology-oriented things like 3D design and teaching people how to solder,” said Bette McDowell, Pflugerville’s adult services librarian. “The Makerspace, once it’s under construction, will be a more dedicated space for us to do these programs.”
