Mass vaccine providers move to direct scheduling as Williamson County closes waitlist

Published on April 21, 2021 under RRnews

Williamson County is no longer accepting names on its COVID-19 vaccine waitlist. The County sent the names of people remaining on its waitlist to its mass vaccine provider Curative to schedule their vaccination appointment. If you have not received an email for an appointment, residents wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should schedule directly with the provider of their choice.

Curative has available appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine, Wednesday, April 21, and, Thursday, April 22, at Dell Diamond, 3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock. To schedule an appointment, go to: https://curative.com/sites/26169. Curative offers the Pfizer vaccine, which is available for individuals 16 years and older. Those under 18 must have parental consent. They also are allowing appointments for people who are looking for a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. If you have any questions, please contact the Curative hotline at 888-702-9042.

“The supply has caught up with the demand. We have made great progress in helping people get vaccinated, and we still have a way to go, but the form in which we do it will change,” County Judge Bill Gravell said. “Going forward, people can directly schedule an appointment with Curative or another provider of their choice just as they would for a flu shot.”

More than 193,000 Williamson County residents have received a COVID-19 vaccination. Currently, the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows as of April 21 approximately 49 percent of the county population 16 and older are vaccinated with at least one dose and 78 percent of those 65 and older have received at least one dose in Williamson County.
