Here’s the feedback so far on the proposed Texas bathroom bill

Updated at 9 p.m. The highly anticipated bathroom bill hearing today started with a personal story from state Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, about her own struggle to be included. She spoke of Title IX permitting her to participate on an even playing field in college athletics, and expressed concern that misuse of bathrooms based on biological sex would threaten those rights. This set the scene for the rest of the day, which began with six hours of invited testimony and is still in the process of hearing more than 400 individuals who signed up to give public comment.
