Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week

Are you looking for a way to support the Round Rock Public Library? Join the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library! With Friends’ support, the library is able to provide more programs and services to our community.

If you join the Friends (or renew your membership) during National Friends of Libraries Week, October 20-26, you will be entered into a drawing for fun prizes. The Friends will have a table in the Gallery area throughout the week. Stop by for more information.

If you’d like to learn more about the Friends, come to the Friends of the Library’s General Meeting, Tuesday, Nov. 12, 6 p.m., Meeting Room C to learn about the many ways our Friends’ group enables the Library to better serve our patrons.

Following the meeting, the Friends will present “To Round Rock and Beyond: Behind the Scenes at Mission Control” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Author Melissa Gaskill will moderate a panel discussion with current and former NASA and IBM employees who were instrumental in the success of several NASA missions. Panelists include Homer Ahr and Sadie Stanley, both formerly with IBM; Brad Mudgett, Ph.D., Research Psychologist, People Analytics, NASA Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer; and Lazarus Gonzales, retired NASA engineer.

Enjoy space-related trivia and light refreshments at this free event.
