Bryan Williams to retire after serving as Round Rock’s former Police Chief, Assistant City Manager

Bryan Williams, who has served as an Assistant City Manager for the City of Round Rock since 2011, has announced his retirement in January 2024.

Williams joined Round Rock as Police Chief in 2004, and his retirement follows a 39-year career in public service. After serving four years in the U.S. Army, Williams joined the McKinney Police Department as a patrol officer in 1985, and was promoted to the department’s Assistant Police Chief position in 2001.

“Bryan’s practical approach to leadership and his deep understanding of our community, both as Police Chief and Assistant City Manager, have been vitally important in addressing Round Rock’s needs during a period of major growth,” said City Manager Laurie Hadley. “We extend our deepest gratitude to Bryan, and we are excited for him to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.”

Round Rock is pleased to announce Brad Wiseman as the City’s newest Assistant City Manager, effective December 2023. Wiseman spent more than six years serving two communities in Florida before joining the City of Round Rock as a planner in 2007. He has served as the Director of Planning and Development Services for Round Rock since 2012.

Wiseman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Zoning and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Following Wiseman’s promotion, two long-time planning staff members also received new titles: Bradley Dushkin moved from Assistant Director to Director of Planning and Development Services, and former Staff Engineer Jeffrey Brooks is the department’s new Assistant Director.
