Williamson County burn ban now in effect
Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday issued a burn ban prohibiting outdoor flames outside of containers, according to a statement from the county. The ban may last up to 90 days but could be lifted by County Judge Dan Gattis before then, according to the statement. Violations of the ban are Class C misdemeanors and can result in fines up to $500. The statement said violations include, but are not limited to, the burning of leaves, grass, stumps, shrubs and other yard trimmings or plants.
