Travis County burn ban lifted

Published on October 27, 2015 under CommunityImpact

Following increased rainfall, the burn ban that was scheduled to end Nov. 18 ended Oct. 26, according to the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office, which lifted the ban according to a news release. The Travis County Commissioners Court had unanimously voted Oct. 20 to reinstate a ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county following a Bastrop County disaster declaration issued because of the Hidden Pines Fire. The Oct. 26 decision means residents can conduct outdoor burning after contacting the local fire department for permission or a permit before burning outdoors, according to an Oct. 26 news release.
