Texas legislature moves to save Muny by transferring land from UT to state

In a bipartisan effort, the Texas Senate passed a bill that would encourage the University of Texas to transfer its ownership of the Lions Municipal Golf Course to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The golf course, of significance to Southern history, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. In 1951, it became the first desegregated golf course in the South.
