Round Rock offering free bus rides April 30-May 4

Published on April 19, 2018 under RRnews

City of Round Rock is offering free bus rides during Air Quality Awareness Week from April 30 to May 4.

Jump on board any of Round Rock’s four CapMetro routes – no fare required. Just kick back and relax while our friendly drivers take you to your destination. This promotion only applies to the routes listed below; any connection to Capital Metro’s MetroRail or Austin-based routes will require the normal fee for those services.

All route information can be found at roundrocktransit.com or by using the public transportation option in Google Maps.

Transportation-related air pollution can contribute to smog and poor air quality, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The agency’s theme for this year’s Air Quality Awareness Week is “Air Quality Where You Are” and aims to inspire individuals to take steps, no matter how large or small, to reduce air pollution in their area.

This promotion applies to the following bus routes:

Route 980: North MoPac Express

Route 980 travels from the Round Rock Transit Center to the New Life Park & Ride and then continues onto its Austin service, traveling on the MoPac managed lanes into downtown. This service operates weekdays, with two morning trips and two evening trips to and from Round Rock.

Route 50: Round Rock Howard Station

Route 50 travels between Austin Community College’s Round Rock Campus and Howard Station, serving destinations such as the Outlet Mall, H-E-B Plus University, Sunrise corridor, downtown, Round Rock Transit Center and La Frontera. Service operates weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Route 51: Round Rock Circulator

Route 51 travels between St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and Dell’s Round Rock Campus, serving destinations such as Round Rock High School, Success High School and downtown. Service operates weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Route 52: Tech Ridge Limited

Route 52 travels from the Tech Ridge Park & Ride to the Round Rock Transit Center, with limited stops. Destinations include the Art Institute of Austin and several employment centers. Service operates weekdays with two morning trips and two afternoon trips.
