Round Rock ISD moves toward asking for background checks for potential trustees
On Tuesday night, the Round Rock ISD board of trustees moved forward with asking potential trustee candidates to consent to background checks in the appointment process. The board is looking at adding a district policy that would require trustee applicants (only in the case of appointments, not in the case of elections) to consent in writing to a background check, including but not limited to a criminal history background check. The board reviewed this policy change on first reading at its Tuesday night workshop, but must read the policy change a second time before issuing final approval.
