Round Rock Fire Department to flip home for future fire station use

The Round Rock Fire Department is planning to convert a single family home to an alternative fire station for use during the next 10 to 15 years. The department started renovations in April to the home at 2721 Sam Bass Road. Construction should be completed by May. The property was purchased by the city of Round Rock in 2015 as the future site for an additional station. The department was interested in the property because it would allow faster response times to residents in northwest Round Rock.
