PfISD Board of Trustees places Torrez on administrative leave

The Pflugerville Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to place Superintendent Alex Torrez on paid administrative leave, effective immediately. The Board met Monday night in a special meeting to discuss the resignation of Torrez, who announced in a statement Dec. 7, his intention to step down as superintendent of PfISD at the end of his contract. After meeting for a little over an hour-and-a-half in closed session, the board reconvened and Trustee Rob Reyes made the motion to place Torrez on paid administrative leave effective immediately; Trustee Carol Fletcher seconded and the motion garnered unanimous approval.
