PEC contest offers local high school students a trip to Washington, D.C.

Published on September 19, 2017 under CommunityImpact

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is accepting applications from high school students interested in being one of 10 PEC delegates to the Youth Tour program in Washington, D.C., according to a PEC statement released Monday morning. PEC teen delegates will tour historical D.C. sites and meet local U.S. House and Senate representatives as part of the program, the statement said. Youth Tour—which is run by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association—teaches students about national government and electric cooperatives, according to the association’s website. Every year, over 1,500 students from across the country participate in the program, according to the site.
