Open house meetings set for Kalahari zoning process

A pair of open house meetings have been scheduled for public input on the rezoning process for the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center project.

The meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Ridgeview Middle School, 2000 Via Sonoma Trail. The same information will be presented at both meetings. The meetings are come-and-go; there will be no formal oral presentation. Representatives from the City and Kalahari will be at both meetings to answer questions and listen to resident’s comments and concerns.

There will be additional opportunities for input at public hearings before the Planning and Zoning Commission, which must approve the zoning, as well as the City Council, which will make the final vote. No dates have been set yet for those meetings.
