Lightning the suspected cause of all 5 Leander house fires on Monday

Multiple public safety agencies in Williamson and Travis counties responded to five reports of house fires during thunderstorms on Monday, and an investigation by the Leander Fire Department has shown all of the fires were caused by lightning strikes. According to a Leander Fire Department press release, the reports of fires were on Goodnight Trail, Lookout Range Drive, and Monahans, Yaupon Range and Shumard Bluff drives. Three of the reported homes received heavy fire damage, according to the release.
