Leander ISD school hours to change in January

Beginning Jan. 4, five minutes will be added to Leander ISD school days as a result of House Bill 2610, which was passed in the last legislative session. HB 2610 requires all public school students to receive 75,600 minutes of instruction—instead of the 180 days that were previously required. In 2016, elementary students will end classes five minutes later, and school days will now last from 7:45 a.m.-2:50 p.m.
