Lane shifts begin as FM 3406 bridge project continues
The Texas Department of Transportation has provided the following update on the FM 3406 bridge replacement project:
Now that the frontage roads are nearly complete, driveways along the southbound I-35 frontage road will need to be raised and reconfigured to tie into the higher frontage road. Beginning Wednesday morning, Sept. 5, weather permitting, the southbound frontage road traffic will switch to the newly constructed frontage road at FM 3406.
Please be aware of lane shifts and temporary closures as crews begin to reconstruct driveways. Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming changes. Alternative driveway access to affected businesses will be available on Chisholm Trail or Hoppe Trail.
The southbound frontage road and driveway improvements are anticipated to take approximately one month to complete, weather permitting.
Full project completion is expected later this fall. We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews finish up these much-needed improvements.
