Korean War sculpture coming to Cedar Park’s Veterans Memorial Park

Published on July 14, 2017 under CommunityImpact

A statue depicting a Marine serving in the Korean War is coming to Veterans Memorial Park, located at 2525 W. New Hope Drive in Cedar Park. Cedar Park City Council authorized commissioning the sculpture during its meeting Thursday night. The idea originated in 2015 when City Council discussed a desire to see new military sculptures installed in the park. Since then, the city has installed a World War I doughboy sculpture and a World War II naval commander sculpture in the park, said Kimberly Reese, the assistant to the city manager.
