Hutto Police Chief to serve as interim chief for HISD police department

Hutto ISD board of trustees approved an item Aug. 11 giving superintendent Doug Killian authority to negotiate a contract to make Hutto Police Chief Earl Morrison the interim chief of HISD’s police department. HISD established a police department last year with Rick Stone as chief. Stone stepped down earlier in the summer and the district has been looking for a replacement since. Killian said making Morrison the interim chief will bring his experience to the district’s department and bring the two departments closer together.
