Hutto ISD proposes slightly decreased tax rate for FY 2016-17

Hutto ISD set a proposed property tax rate of $1.6655 per $100 valuation at the Aug. 11 meeting to fund a $70.2 million budget. The rate is a slight decrease from the previous year’s rate of $1.67 per $100 valuation. However, most homes will likely pay more in property taxes because of rising property values. The effective rate, or rate at which the average home would be about the same amount of property taxes to the school district, was set at $1.514105 per $100 valuation, according to draft board documents.
