Hutto ISD names new police chief

Hutto ISD announced the hiring of Rick Stone, the school district’s first police chief, on Wednesday. The proposed Hutto ISD police department, approved by the school board in May, is scheduled to include four officers in addition to the chief and be operational by the 2016-17 school year, according to district officials. Currently Hutto ISD school resource officers are supplied by the city of Hutto. “I am both humbled and honored to be selected for this position.
