The Williamson County region has seen about 2.5 to 8 inches of rain over the past few days as Hurricane Harvey continues to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to Texas. According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, the heaviest rainfall around Williamson County so far has fallen mostly east of I-35 and in the region around Austin. Computer models from Community Impact Newspaper’s reporting partner FOX 7 project continued rainfall in the Austin area through at least Monday morning. The computer projections estimate that Georgetown and the Williamson County area could see another 6.88 inches of rain.
