Friends of the Library: A Super Hero Organization

Published on July 2, 2015 under RRnews

The library has a powerful supporter, one that can fundraise in a single bound and has the super strength of providing community support and programs for the library. Who is this amazing entity? It is the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library!

The Friends is a non-profit organization of volunteers who advocate and fundraise for the library by attending community events and running a bookstore. The money is used for a wide array of items for the library–everything from furniture to performers to eBooks.

And thanks to the Friends, the library can offer amazing programs including a great lineup of youth events this summer–including Bricks4Kidz, Whirled on a String, Nancy & Her Friends, Mr. Johnny–and even the annual movie license so the library can show films.

Will you volunteer to be a Friend?

The Friends group is always in need of members and volunteers. If you’d like to join Friends, you could get a special perk this summer!

One of the Friends-sponsored programs, the Austin Reptile Show, will take place on July 22 at 3:30 p.m. As a special salute to the Friends, Friends members and their guests can get a special private, interactive viewing of the animals after the show ends at 4:30 p.m. All ages are welcome, but space is limited, so act soon–join Friends of the Round Rock Public Library and accept your exclusive invitation to the private Austin Reptile show today.
