Foxhole Culinary Tavern
Foxhole Culinary Tavern’s name comes in part from the term for the small pit soldiers would dig for shelter during battle. Brothers Ryan and Trey Wolslager used the 1920s as inspiration for their industrial, rustic-designed restaurant, which opened in July 2014. “We started looking through 1920s [popular] slang words … and foxhole came along,” Ryan said. “That phrase, ‘If you’re going to be stuck in a foxhole with somebody, who would it be?’ Me and my brother have a great relationship, so we thought it was kind of cool.”
