February unemployment rate in Austin-Round Rock metro ranked second-lowest in Texas
The unemployment rate in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Williamson, Travis, Bastrop, Hays and Caldwell counties, increased slightly between January and February, rising from 3.5 to 3.7 percent. But Austin-Round Rock metro’s February unemployment rate is still well below the state and national rates of 5.1 and 4.9 percent, respectively, according to information released today from the Texas Workforce Commission. Overall the Texas economy added 6,700 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs in February, according to the state agency.
