Wild Hog Issues

As many have noticed or heard, the Stone Oak area is now dealing with these uninvited "guests." We've been in contact with the City of Round Rock. As these are feral, Animal Services will be of no help. The City Manager and Director of Community and Neighborhood Services are looking up all the information they have about a similar event in 2020. At the time, State and Federal wildlife contacts had been working with TSC for remediations, we are waiting on this information. We've also requested direct contact information from the City for Wilco counterparts in hopes of a program which places traps.

For the immediate term, the City has recommended the use of "Wild Hog Scram" repellant. Online reviews and posts show this works really well when applied liberally.

We'll post an update as we have more information.

3/31 UPDATE: We got contact info for the "Texas Hog Management @A&M" rep for our area, a USDA Trapper for Wilco, and TSC (quarry) today. These are two years old, hopefully still good. We'll burn up the phones on Monday.

Can the HOA put the Wild Hog Scram all around the water source and where they are getting into the Subdivision?

Mike Knapp is a professional trapper who lives in the area. Hire him to get the job done.

An open letter from the HOA Board regarding the upcoming Board meeting next week:

As we approach the end of the fiscal year, we want to take a moment to share an important update regarding our HOA budget and the need for an increase in our dues.

As many of you are aware, the costs of essential services, maintenance, and operational expenses have risen steadily over the years. Inflation has impacted everything from landscaping and maintenance to utility bills and insurance, all of which are vital to maintaining the quality of our community.

We have carefully reviewed our budget and determined that an increase in HOA dues is necessary. This adjustment will help us cover the rising costs and ensure that we can maintain our facilities and address any unexpected expenses that may arise. In years past the freezes have been a large detriment to funds due to major brush cleanup and plumbing repairs. Unfortunately due to these unexpected expenses, the Association has been limited to additional enhancements.

We understand that any increase can be concerning, and we want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. We are committed to being transparent about our financial needs and to keeping our community thriving. The assessments did not increase from 2011 until 2022, 11 years without an increase. At that time the Board knew with the rising costs the Association needed additional funding in order to cover just the day to day expenses. The last few increases have not exceeded 5% and that again would be the max for an increase for 2025.

*Attached to this email is the 2025 PROPOSED budget.* It is important to know these numbers are BUDGET numbers based on contracts, years past, inflation costs, etc. The budget and assessment increase will not be finalized for 2025 until the Board vote at the upcoming meeting on October 2nd.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Together, we can ensure our community remains a wonderful place to live.
