Check out the internet at Round Rock Public Library

Thanks to sponsorship provided by the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library, cardholders will now be able to check out the internet just like a book. Mobile hotspots provide 24/7 access to the internet with unlimited data on a T-Mobile network.

A mobile hotspot is a small device you can use to connect a wireless enabled device, such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet, to the internet. Hotspots are portable, so you can connect your device to the internet almost anywhere you are, like at home, on the bus or in the park. The hotspot device works in any area covered by the T-Mobile 3G/GG LTE mobile broadband network.

Access to the internet has become increasingly important in many facets of daily life, yet not everyone in our community can afford this technology. The purpose of this pilot program is to remove barriers to the digital world by providing our patrons with greater access to the internet outside of the library building. This furthers RRPL’s mission to provide high quality services and resources to our growing and diverse community.

Mobile hotspots may be checked out at the reference desk on the second floor of the library. For more information, please call 512-218-7000.
