Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge releases 2017 hunting season dates

Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge announced its hunting season dates for 2017 on Wednesday. The refuge gives out a limited number of public permits for dove hunting and big game hunting each hunting season. Dove hunting permits are first come first serve and the Texas Parks and Wildlife lottery permit system will issue the big game permits. The refuge will open up more than 240 acres for dove hunting on the first four days of the dove hunting season and more than 11,000 for the big game hunts.
