Austin-area 7 day forecast calls for heavy rain, Aug. 24-30

After a string of blazing hot temperatures, the weather is starting to cool off in the Austin area. Additionally, Central Texas could be in for a soaking late this week and into the weekend. The remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey could re-form in the Gulf of Mexico, and although there is a great deal of uncertainty in the forecast track, that system could move north and soak parts of South and Central Texas. Heavy rain at times is possible over the weekend.
