See what’s different with Round Rock ISD’s new academic calendar
Round Rock ISD trustees approved an academic calendar last week for the district’s 2017-18 school year, which includes several changes from calendars in years past. Classes will begin Tuesday, Aug. 22, following the third Monday of the month. In setting the start date, RRISD used its newfound freedom as a district of innovation and took an exemption from Texas’ uniform start date for schools, which mandates classes cannot begin earlier than the fourth Monday in August, according to the Texas Education Code. RRISD trustees approved the calendar Feb. 16.
