Round Rock named No. 2 best minor league baseball town

Round Rock has been named the No. 2 Best Minor League Baseball Town of 2017 by financial technology company, SmartAsset. This is the fourth year they have ranked minor league baseball towns, naming Round Rock No. 1 in 2015 and 2016. Combined with Round Rock residents’ active lifestyles and our awesome sports facilities, it’s no wonder we’re the Sports Capital of Texas!

According to SmartAsset, “Round Rock provides one of the best on field experiences in the country,” filling the stands with an average of 8,700 baseball fans per game.

In addition to average attendance at the Dell Diamond, data on 159 towns was analyzed based on game day experience factors like the Express’ win percentage. Quality of life factors were also analyzed and included violent and property crime rates, income remaining after housing, unemployment rate, and dining and entertainment establishments.
